* All units are inches.

Stitch the Exterior and the Lining

1) Attach the magnetic snap onto the right side of the lining flap and exterior front piece following the manufacturer’s guide.

2) If you would like to add the sewing label, place the label and baste at your desired location.

3) Sew around the exterior clutch, back tack on each ends.

4) Clip the rounded seam.

5) Repeat this process for the lining.

Make the Flap

1) Pin the exterior flap and lining flap with right sides facing. Stitch only rounded seam, leave a straight edge unstitched (for turning).

2) Clip the curved seam. Turn the flap right side out. Press the flap; topstitch 1/8” away from the curved seam only.

3) Place the flap onto the back piece of the exterior with exterior sides facing, aligning the raw edge of the exterior clutch and the flap. Pin and baste the flap and the exterior in place.

Tip: If you would like to make a patched flap version, cut out the 6 pieces of 1 1/2” x 3 1/4”. Sew the panels and iron the seam.
Match the lining flap and patched exterior flap with right sides together. Stitch together, using the lining seam allowance. Leave a straight edge unstitched. Cut out the exterior leftover. Turn it right side out. Press and topstitch the flap.

Assemble the Exterior and Lining

1) Press the exterior and lining seams open. Put the exterior into the lining with right sides together, sandwiching the flap in between the exterior and the lining.

2) Pin the opening of the clutch. Sew along the opening of the clutch using a 1/4” seam allowance, leave a 3” gap to turn it right side out.

3) Trim the corner seams.

4) Turn the clutch right side out. Iron the opening of the clutch.

5) Tuck the lining into the exterior. Topstitch all-around of the opening of the clutch.

6) Sew the button to the exterior flap as desired location.
