MATERIALS LIST
FABRIC
44” wide medium weight home decorator, quilting weight cotton
(1) Fat quarter for exterior fabric
(1) Fat quarter for lining
INTERFACING
(1/4) Yard for of 44” wide light weight fusible interfacing
OTHERS
(1) 2” Length, 1” wide hook and loop fastener (Optional)
(1) 8” All-purpose zipper for front zipper pocket
(1) Spool of coordinating thread

** After printing the pattern and taping the pieces together, please follow the reference the provided size guide (3″ or 5″).
** Patterns marked as A4 are for users who utilize the A4 standard paper size.

Tip. There are two options in cutting the interfacing; with or without the seam allowance. Cutting the interfacing without any seam allowance will give it a better overall shape; if you would like to do this, use the original pattern (gray dotted line) to cut out the interfacing.
OTHER
(1) 2” Length, Hook and Loop Fastener for the closure (Optional)

Sew the Closure

1) Separate the 2” Length hook and loop fastener for the closure. Place the hook and loop fastener onto the lining closure piece as indicated on the pattern. Pin and stitch in a rectangular shape.

2) Fold and press both side seams bottom seam of the closure 3/8” with wrong sides together and press. Repeat this for the lining closure.

3) Place the exterior closure and lining closure with wrong sides together. Pin and topstitch the closure 1/8” away from the edge, backstitching on both ends.

4) Position the closure onto the top of the back piece with exterior right sides together, aligning the raw edges. Baste the two together.

5) Place the other side of the hook and loop fastener onto the front piece as indicated on the pattern. Pin and stitch in a rectangular shape.

Sew the Front Pocket

1) Sew the front pocket zipper at the exterior front pocket piece. See the Tip: Make the Zipper Pocket.

2) Fold and press the both side seams bottom seam of the front pocket 1/2” with wrong sides together and press.

3) Fold over the top seam of the lining pocket 3/4" with wrong sides together and press. Fold it over 3/4" again and press. Topstitch 1/8” away from the folded edge, backstitching on both ends.

4) Place the pocket onto the front piece as indicated on the pattern. Pin and topstitch the pocket 1/8” away from the edge. Topstitch again 3/8” away from the edge. Backstitching at both ends.

Assemble the Bag

1) Place the exterior front and back pieces with right sides together. Pin and stitch both side and bottom of the exterior pieces, backstitching at both ends. Leave the top opening unstitched.

2) Trim the bottom corner seams. Turn the exterior right side out.

3) Assemble the lining front and back pieces in the same manner as exterior. Leave a 4” opening at the bottom for turning right side out later on. Backstitch at all ends.

4) Press the exterior and lining seams open. Place the exterior into the lining with right sides together.

5) Pin and sew the top opening of the exterior and lining pieces together.

6) Turn the bag right side out. Stitch the opening closed.

7) Tuck the lining into the exterior. Press the top opening of the bag. Topstitch around the opening 1/8” from the edge.
